About Us
The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI) is a premier institute for agricultural research and education in India. Our Regional Station in Shimla focuses on critical research, including managing post-harvest apple diseases and assessing mite control solutions to ensure high-quality produce for both domestic and export markets. The Opportunities
We have two distinct positions available, each offering a unique chance to contribute to vital research. (p. 1)
- Position 1: Post-Harvest Disease Management in Apple (p. 1)
- Emoluments: ₹20,000 PM + 10% HRA (p. 1)
- Duration: 2 years (p. 1)
- Focus: Evaluating the efficacy of "PIF320" in managing fungal decay in apples during storage. (p. 1) This role requires significant lab and field experience, potentially including pathogen isolation and fungicide application. (p. 1)
- Position 2: Bio-efficacy of Etoxazole 10% SC (p. 1)
- Emoluments: ₹15,000 PM (consolidated) (p. 1)
- Duration: 2 years (p. 1)
- Focus: Assessing the effectiveness of Etoxazole 10% SC against European red mites and two-spotted spider mites in apple crops. (p. 1) This involves general lab/field work experience with a preference for experience in agriculture/horticulture. (p. 1)
Key Requirements
- Essential Qualification: +2 with science subjects or +2 in Agriculture. (p. 1)
- Experience: Position 1 requires a minimum of 3 years' experience, while Position 2 requires at least 1 year of experience in lab/field works. (p. 1)
- Age Limit: Maximum age of 30 years as of the interview date (age relaxation applies for SC/ST/OBC/Women candidates). (p. 1)
- Work Environment: The selected candidates will be based in Shimla but must be willing to travel for field trials across Himachal Pradesh and other locations as required. (p. 1)
