The Role: Clerk (Permanent Post)
This is a permanent position crucial to the daily operations of the college administration. You will be a vital part of the team, ensuring smooth and efficient processes within the college framework.
Eligibility Criteria
- Education Qualification: A Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University (p. 2).
- Computer Proficiency: Must have successfully completed an ICT training course with a duration of at least 80 hours (p. 2).
Pay Scale & Salary
The position offers a competitive pay scale as per Chandigarh Administration Rules: ₹5910-20200 (PB-2) and ₹20200-64000 (L-3) (p. 2).
Selection Procedure
The selection process involves a comprehensive assessment to identify the best candidate (p. 2):
- Written Test (200 marks): Two papers (English, General Knowledge, Computer Proficiency Test, Mathematics, Statistics, and Aptitude/Reasoning) will be conducted. A negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer applies.
- Typing Test: A qualifying typing test on a computer is required, with a speed of 35 words per minute (p. 2). This test is purely qualifying and carries no marks or weightage.
How to Apply
Interested and eligible candidates must submit their applications within 21 days from the date of the advertisement i.e 31.01.2026
- Download the Form: Obtain the prescribed application form from the college official website: https://www.davchd.ac.in (p. 1).
- Prepare a Demand Draft: Enclose a Demand Draft (DD) of ₹250/- in favor of "Principal, DAV College, Chandigarh," payable at Chandigarh (pp. 1-2).
- Submit the Application: Send the completed application form along with self-attested copies of required documents and the DD to the college address (p. 1).
- Note: Candidates who previously applied in response to the advertisement dated 08-07-2019 must apply afresh but are exempt from paying the fee (p. 1).
