IIT Mandi Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for Non-Teaching Positions
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi has released an official recruitment advertisement (Advt. No. IIT Mandi/Recruit./NTS/2026/02) inviting online applications from eligible Indian nationals for various regular non-teaching positions. Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can submit their applications through the official portal before the closing date.

- Closing Date for Online Applications: August 10, 2026, at 11:59 PM IST
Vacancy Details and Eligibility Criteria
The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 11 vacancies across multiple administrative, technical, and medical cadres. The eligibility criteria, including age limits and qualifications, are determined as of the application closing date.
1. Chief Medical Officer
- Vacancies: 1 (UR)
- Pay Level: Level-13
- Maximum Age Limit: 55 years
- Minimum Qualifications: MBBS with a compulsory rotating internship, or a Post-graduate diploma/MD/MS in an appropriate branch of Medicine. Candidates must also possess a minimum of 5 years of service experience in a relevant field at Pay Level-12.
2. Project Engineer & Estate Officer / Executive Engineer
- Vacancies: 1 (UR)
- Pay Level: Level-11
- Maximum Age Limit: 45 years
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering from a recognized university. It requires 5 years of relevant experience as an Engineer or Assistant Engineer (in PB–3 with GP of Rs. 5400/-) in government departments, PSUs, autonomous bodies, or reputed organizations.
3. Medical Officer
- Vacancies: 2 (UR)
- Pay Level: Level-10
- Maximum Age Limit: 40 years
- Minimum Qualifications: MBBS with a compulsory rotating internship followed by at least 1 year of experience in a recognized hospital, or a Post-graduate diploma with 1 year of experience, or an MD/MS in Medicine.
4. Technical Officer (Digital and Computing Services)
- Vacancies: 1 (UR)
- Pay Level: Level-10
- Maximum Age Limit: 40 years
- Minimum Qualifications: First-class B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc. in CSE or IT, or an MCA with 5 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, an M.Tech. in CSE or IT with 1 year of experience is acceptable. Institute employees serving as Technical Superintendents for at least 5 years at Level-7 or higher can also apply.
5. Junior Superintendent
- Vacancies: 4 (1 SC, 1 EWS, 2 UR)
- Pay Level: Level-06
- Maximum Age Limit: 35 years
- Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 55% marks and 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 55% marks and 5 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of Central Government office procedures, computer applications, and fluency in English is mandatory.
6. Junior Library Information Assistant
- Vacancies: 2 (UR)
- Pay Level: Level-04
- Maximum Age Limit: 30 years
- Minimum Qualifications: Diploma in Library Science from a recognized university along with 5 years of experience in a library or library computerization.
Application Fee
Candidates must pay the designated application and processing fees based on their category and the post code they are applying for. SC, ST, Women, PwD, and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) candidates are exempted from the application fee but must pay the applicable processing fee.
- Unreserved / EWS: Rs. 1000 for Post Codes 001 to 004; Rs. 500 for Post Codes 005 to 006.
- OBC: Rs. 700 for Post Codes 001 to 004; Rs. 400 for Post Codes 005 to 006.
- SC / ST / Women / PwD / ESM: Rs. 500 for Post Codes 001 to 004; Rs. 300 for Post Codes 005 to 006.
Fees must be paid online during the application process and are non-refundable.

Eligible candidates can submit their forms online by visiting the official IIT Mandi recruitment portal or the designated Samarth web link (samarth.edu.in). Applicants must scan and upload copies of all essential certificates, including educational qualifications, experience letters on official letterheads, date of birth proof, and relevant category certificates.
