Job Notification: Guest Faculty Recruitment 2026 at NSTI (W) Shimla

The National Skill Training Institute for Women (NSTI-W), Shimla, functioning under the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India, has released an official advertisement for the engagement of Guest Faculty for the academic session 2026-27. These positions are purely temporary and offered on a session-wise contract basis. Eligible and interested candidates can apply by submitting both an online Google form and a physical application by August 9, 2026.

Vacancy Details

The institute is hiring for multiple engineering and non-engineering trades under the Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) and Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS).

Fashion Design and Technology (CITS): 01 Post, requiring up to 5 hours of engagement per day for Trade Theory and Trade Practical classes.
POT (DMC & FDT) (CITS): 01 Post, requiring up to 6 hours of engagement per day for training methodology sessions.
Fashion Design and Technology (CTS): 01 Post, requiring up to 7 hours of engagement per day for Trade Theory and Trade Practical classes.
Stenographer Secretarial Assistant (English) (CTS): 01 Post, requiring up to 7 hours of engagement per day.
Employability Skills (CTS): 01 Post, requiring up to 4 hours per week to cover five CTS trades.

Eligibility and Qualifications

Candidates must be at least 21 years of age to apply for these positions.

1. Fashion Design and Technology (CITS)

Option A: B.Voc or Degree in Fashion Technology / Fashion Designing and Technology with 2 years of relevant experience.
Option B: Minimum 2-year Diploma in Fashion Technology / Fashion Designing and Technology with 5 years of relevant experience.
Option C: NTC or NAC passed in the relevant trade with 7 years of experience.
Essential Requirement: National Craft Instructor Certificate (NCIC) in Fashion Design and Technology.

2. POT (DMC & FDT) (CITS)

Option A: B.Voc or Degree in any discipline with 2 years of teaching or training experience.
Option B: Diploma in any discipline with 5 years of training or teaching experience.
Option C: NTC or NAC passed in any trade with 7 years of teaching experience.
Essential Requirement: NCIC in any variant, or B.Ed, or Training of Trainers (ToT) from NITTTR or an equivalent institute.

3. Fashion Design and Technology (CTS)

Option A: 4-year B.Voc or Degree in Fashion Designing / Technology with 1 year of experience, or a 3-year degree with 2 years of experience.
Option B: 3-year Diploma in Fashion Designing / Technology / CDDM, or an Advanced Vocational Diploma from DGT with 2 years of experience.
Option C: NTC or NAC passed in the trade with 3 years of experience.
Essential Requirement: Relevant regular or RPL variants of NCIC under DGT.

4. Stenographer Secretarial Assistant (English) (CTS)

Option A: B.Voc or Degree in Commerce / Arts featuring shorthand and typing, along with 1 year of experience.
Option B: Minimum 2-year Diploma in Commercial Practice or relevant Advanced Vocational Diploma with 2 years of experience.
Option C: NTC or NAC passed in the Stenographer Secretarial Assistant (English) trade with 3 years of experience.
Essential Requirement: Relevant regular or RPL variants of NCIC under DGT.

5. Employability Skills (CTS)

Option A: MBA, BBA, any Graduate, or a Diploma in any discipline with 2 years of experience and a short-term ToT course in Employability Skills from a DGT institute. Candidates must have studied English/Communication Skills and Basic Computers at the 12th or Diploma level and above.
Option B: Existing Social Studies Instructors in ITIs holding a short-term ToT course in Employability Skills from DGT.

Remuneration

Hourly pay scales are designated by the type of course taught:

CTS Courses: Rs. 200/- per hour
CITS Courses: Rs. 250/- per hour

The maximum monthly earnings ceiling for any selected Guest Faculty member cannot exceed Rs. 30,000/- during any calendar month.

Selection Process

The final selection will be made based on the fulfillment of minimum prescribed qualifications, followed by a mandatory Written Test and a Skill Test. The institute will contact shortlisted eligible candidates via post or email to notify them of the exam date, time, and venue.

How to Apply

Applying involves a two-step mandatory process.

First, you must fill out the official NSTI Shimla Guest Faculty Google Form. If you are applying for more than one trade, you must complete a separate form for each course.

Second, download the physical application form from the official website of NSTI(W) Shimla. The fully filled-in offline application form must reach the institute campus by hand, Registered Post, or Speed Post on or before August 9, 2026, by 5:30 PM. Please note that submissions sent via email or received after the deadline will not be evaluated.
