Salary and Remuneration
The appointed candidate will receive monthly remuneration based on the DC rates fixed by the Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh, which are updated from time to time. Currently, the DC rate for a Veterinary Doctor/Officer is Rs. 58,110/- per month.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements as of the closing date, September 11, 2026:
Educational Qualification & Experience
  1. Essential Degree: Degree in Veterinary Science from a recognized University or equivalent.
  2. Essential Experience: Minimum of two years of practical experience in the scientific breeding, maintenance, and care of laboratory animals. This experience must be obtained after acquiring the essential degree.
  3. Desirable: A postgraduate degree or a Diploma in Genetics from a recognized University or Institute.
Age Limit
  • The maximum age limit for applying is 35 years.
  • Since the vacant position is under the Unreserved (UR) category, no age relaxation will be provided to reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC).
  • The date of birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate will be treated as final.

Important Terms & Conditions
  • Private Practice: The appointee will be a whole-time employee of the Institute and is strictly prohibited from engaging in any private practice of any kind during the contract period.
  • Benefits: Contractual employees are not entitled to benefits like Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, Seniority, Promotion, or Medical Attendance Treatment.
  • Termination: The contract can be terminated by either side by giving one month’s notice or by paying one month’s salary.
