Are you a 10th pass looking for a stable central government job? The Intelligence Bureau (IB), under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), has released a fantastic opportunity! The short notice for the Multi-Tasking Staff (General) Examination-2025 is officially out, with a total of 362 vacancies available across various Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaux (SIBs) in India.


This is a Group 'C', Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial position with an All-India transfer liability (p. 1).

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the MTS (G) post, candidates must meet the following requirements as of the closing date (14.12.2025) (p. 1):
  • Educational Qualification: Must have passed Matriculation (10th standard) or equivalent from a recognized Board (p. 1).
  • Domicile: Possession of a domicile certificate of the State for which the candidate has applied (p. 1).
  • Age Limit: 18-25 years (p. 1). Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), and other categories as per government rules (p. 1).
Selection Process
The selection process involves two main stages (p. 1):
  • Tier-I Examination: An online objective-type exam of 100 marks, consisting of General Awareness (40 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (20 marks), Numerical/Analytical/Logical Ability & Reasoning (20 marks), and English Language (20 marks) (p. 1). There will be negative marking of 1/4 mark for each wrong answer (p. 1).
  • Tier-II Examination: A descriptive test on English Language and Comprehension (50 marks), which is qualifying in nature (p. 1).
The final merit list will be based solely on the performance in the Tier-I exam, provided the candidate qualifies Tier-II (p. 1).
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted only online through the MHA or NCS websites (p. 2).
  1. Visit the official website: www.mha.gov.in or www.ncs.gov.in (p. 2).
  2. Register and fill out the online application form with personal and academic details.
  3. Upload all required documents.
  4. Pay the application fee online (Rs. 650 for Gen/EWS/OBC males; Rs. 550 for others) (p. 2).
  5. Submit the form and take a printout for future reference.
Candidates are advised to go through the detailed advertisement on the MHA website before applying to ensure they meet all eligibility criteria (p. 1). Multiple applications for more than one SIB will be summarily rejected (p. 1
