Border Roads Organisation (BRO) Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 919 Vacancies in GREF (p. 2)
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO), under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has officially released the recruitment notification (Advt No. 01/2026) for the General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) (p. 2). Applications are invited from eligible Indian National Males Only to fill up various technical and tradesman posts (pp. 2, 31).

Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as of 01 June 2026)
- General / UR Category: 18 to 27 years (p. 1)
- OBC Category: 18 to 30 years (Includes 3 years relaxation) (pp. 1, 9)
- SC & ST Category: 18 to 32 years (Includes 5 years relaxation) (pp. 1, 9)
Educational & Technical Qualifications
- Draughtsman: 10+2 with Science subjects along with a 2-year Certificate in Architecture/Draughtsmanship or NTC in Draughtsman (Civil) with 1 year of experience (p. 10).
- Hindi Typist: 10+2 or equivalent with a typing speed of 30 words per minute in Hindi on a computer (p. 10).
- Store Keeper Technical: 10+2 with essential store-keeping knowledge relating to vehicles or engineering equipment (p. 10).
- Operator Communication: Matriculation with a Wireless Operator or Radio Mechanic Certificate from ITI (p. 11).
- OEM (Ordinary Grade): Matriculation along with a heavy motor vehicle driving licence or driving licence for Dozer/Excavator with 6 months of experience (p. 11).
- Electrician: Matriculation with an Auto Electrician certificate from ITI and 1 year of experience as an electrician (p. 11).
Selection Process
The recruitment process consists of the following sequential stages (p. 21):
- Written Examination: Objective and/or subjective type questions covering trade-specific syllabus, arithmetic, and general knowledge (pp. 11-12, 21).
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Running 1 mile (1.6 km) within 10 minutes (Qualifying nature) (p. 22).
- Trade Test (TT): Practical assessment where applicable (Minimum 40% to qualify) (p. 13).
- Primary Medical Examination (PME) & Document Verification: Complete physical health checkup and certificate screening (pp. 21-22).
Application Fees
- General, EWS, OBC, Ex-Servicemen, & Ex-Agniveers: ₹50/- (p. 10)
- SC, ST, and PwBD candidates: NIL (p. 10)
- Payment Mode: Must be paid online directly via the official SBI Collect link provided in the notification (p. 10).
How to Apply
- Download the application form from the official website www.bro.gov.in (p. 4).
- Print the application form on high-quality A4 size 75 GSM bond paper (single side only) (p. 4).
- Print the admit card on both sides of a single paper (p. 4).
- Fill out the forms completely in capital letters using English or Hindi (pp. 4, 31).
- Paste recent color photographs (not older than one month) and sign at the designated spots (pp. 4, 31).
- Pay the application fee through SBI Collect and attach the e-receipt (p. 10).
- Send the filled form along with self-attested copies of required certificates via post to (pp. 5, 14):
