CSIR-IHBT Palampur Recruitment 2026: Walk-in Interviews for Project Positions
The CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT), Palampur (H.P.) has released an official advertisement (Advt. No. 11/2026) inviting eligible candidates for walk-in interviews. These positions are purely temporary and project-based. Interviews will take place from August 10 to August 14, 2026.

Interviews on August 10, 2026 (Reporting Time: 09:30 AM)
- Project Associate PAT-I (3 Positions) [Position Code: 11001]: Requires M.Sc. Chemistry or M.Pharma in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Age limit is 35 years. Stipend is Rs. 25,000/- per month.
- Senior-PAT (1 Position) [Position Code: 11002]: Requires M.Sc. in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Phytochemistry/Pharmacy with 3 years of research experience, or an M.Tech/ME in Chemical Engineering, or a Ph.D. with 2 years of experience. Age limit is 40 years. Stipend is Rs. 42,000/- + 10% HRA.
- Project Associate PAT-II (1 Position) [Position Code: 11003]: Requires M.Sc. Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry/Pharmacy or B.Tech/BE Chemical/Industrial Engineering along with 2 years of R&D experience. Age limit is 35 years. Stipend is Rs. 35,000/- + 10% HRA for NET/GATE qualified candidates, and Rs. 28,000/- + 10% HRA for others.

- Project Assistant-I (2 Positions) [Position Codes: 11004 & 11005]: Requires SSC/10th standard pass plus an ITI certificate. Age limit is 35 years. Stipend is Rs. 18,000/- + HRA.
- Project Associate PAT-I (1 Position) [Position Code: 11006]: Requires M.Sc. in Horticulture, Agronomy, Tea Sciences, or Biochemistry. Age limit is 35 years. Stipend is Rs. 31,000/- + 10% HRA for NET/GATE qualifiers, and Rs. 25,000/- + 10% HRA for others.
Interviews on August 12, 2026 (Reporting Time: 09:30 AM)
- Project Associate PAT-I (2 Positions) [Position Codes: 11007 & 11008]: Requires a Master's degree in Life Sciences, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, or Botany. Age limit is 35 years. Stipend is Rs. 25,000/- + 10% HRA.
Interviews on August 13, 2026 (Reporting Time: 09:30 AM)
- Project Associate PAT-I (1 Position) [Position Code: 11009]: Requires a B.E/B.Tech or Master's degree in Remote Sensing, GIS, Geoinformatics, Geography, Forestry, Ecology, or Computer Science. Age limit is 35 years. Stipend is Rs. 25,000/- + 10% HRA.
- Project Associate PAT-I (1 Position) [Position Code: 11010]: Requires a B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science/IT or an MCA degree. Age limit is 35 years. Stipend is Rs. 25,000/- + 10% HRA.
Interviews on August 14, 2026 (Reporting Time: 09:30 AM)
- Project Associate PAT-I (3 Positions) [Position Codes: 11011, 11012, 11013]: Open to candidates with an M.Sc. in Food Science & Technology/Nutrition, M.Sc. Chemistry/Biochemistry/Pharmacy, or B.Tech Chemical/Industrial Engineering. Age limit is 35 years. Stipend is Rs. 31,000/- + 10% HRA for NET/GATE qualifiers, and Rs. 25,000/- + 10% HRA for others.
Important Guidelines for Candidates
- Venue: CSIR-IHBT, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh.
- Reporting Time: Candidates must report by 09:30 AM. Anyone arriving after 10:00 AM will not be allowed to participate.
- Application Format: Download the standard application form from www.ihbt.res.in. Bring the filled form along with a recent color passport-size photograph.
- Documents Required: Bring self-attested photocopies as well as the original certificates of age, educational qualifications, and experience.
- Age Relaxation: Age relaxation of 5 years is applicable for SC, ST, PwBD, and Women candidates, and 3 years for OBC candidates.
- Selection Process: The selection committee may conduct a direct interview or a preliminary objective multiple-choice test followed by an interview on the same day.
Candidates wanting to apply for multiple position codes must fill out and submit separate application forms for each code. No traveling allowance will be provided for attending the walk-in interviews.
