PGIMER Chandigarh Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 60 Group A, B, and C Posts

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh has released an official recruitment notification (Advt No. PGI/RC/053/2026/2192) inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens. The institute is filling 57 Group 'C' vacancies at PGIMER Chandigarh and 03 Group 'A', 'B', & 'C' vacancies at the PGI Satellite Centre in Sangrur, Punjab on a direct recruitment basis.

1. For PGIMER, Chandigarh (Group C Posts):

Multi Tasking Staff (Sanitation) Grade-III: 54 posts (UR-28, ST-12, OBC-07, EWS-07) | Pay Matrix Level-1 (Rs. 18,000–56,900)
Library Attendant Grade-I: 01 post (SC) | Pay Matrix Level-3 (Rs. 21,700–69,100)

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as of 19.10.2026):

Computer Programmer: 18 to 35 years
All Other Posts: 18 to 30 years
Note: Age relaxation applies to reserved categories (5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 10 years for PwBD) as per Government rules.

Educational Qualifications:

Medical Officer: MBBS or equivalent medical qualification registered with the State Medical Council, along with training in Family Planning & Educational methods.
Computer Programmer: Master's degree in Statistics/Mathematics/Operations Research/Physics OR a Degree in Engineering/Computer Science with 1 year of programming experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in the relevant subjects with 7 years of computer operation and programming experience.
Pharmacist Grade-II: Matriculation or equivalent, a Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution, and registration under the Pharmacy Act, 1948.
Library Attendant Grade-I: Matric with Science, a Diploma in Library Science, and 1 year of experience handling books and journals.
Animal Attendant / MTS (Sanitation) / Barber: Matriculation or equivalent with relevant skills or line experience as detailed in the official notice.

Application Fee

General / OBC / EWS Category: Rs. 1500/- plus applicable transaction charges
SC / ST Category: Rs. 800/- plus applicable transaction charges
PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities): Exempted from payment

Fees must be deposited online through the application portal via Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking.

Selection Process

The selection process will primarily depend on an online Computer Based Test (CBT) conducted in the English language.

Group 'B' & 'C' Posts: Selection is based purely on the merit of the CBT (100 marks, 100 MCQs, 100 minutes). There is no interview round for these posts.
Group 'A' Posts: Selection involves a CBT (85 marks) followed by an Interview (15 marks).
Negative Marking: There will be a deduction of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer in the CBT.
