- Pay Level: Level-1 (Initial Basic Pay: Rs. 18,000) (p. 1)
- Approximate Total Emoluments: Rs. 36,306/- per month (at Chandigarh) (p. 1)
- Benefits: In addition to salary, employees are eligible for allowances like DA, HRA, TA, New Pension Scheme-2004, medical expense reimbursement, and Leave Travel Concession as per Central Government rules (p. 3).
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this fantastic opportunity, candidates must meet the following requirements as of the last date for application submission (pp. 3-4):
- Essential Qualification: Matriculation (10th standard) or equivalent pass from a recognized board (p. 1).
- Desirable Qualification: Intermediate (12th class) pass (p. 1).
- Upper Age Limit: Not exceeding 25 years (p. 1).
- Age relaxation is available for reserved categories (OBC, PwBD, ESM) as per Government of India rules (pp. 5-6).
What You'll Do (Job Description)
As an MTS, you will assist in the routine office work and non-clerical functions of various sections. This can include:
- Physical maintenance of records (p. 2)
- General cleanliness and upkeep of the section (p. 2)
- Carrying files and documents between sections (p. 2)
- Photocopying, delivering mail (Dak), and other general official work as assigned (p. 2)
Selection Process Overview
The selection process involves two main stages (p. 2):
- Trade Test: Eligible candidates will be invited for a trade test.
- Written Test: Those who qualify the trade test will proceed to a competitive written examination, which will form the basis of the final merit list.
The written test is an OMR or computer-based objective type exam with multiple-choice questions in both English and Hindi (except for the English Language section). It covers General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension (pp. 2, 11).
